Shocking Facts on the Deteriorated State of Fouts Field

There’s been a lot of stadium news over the past week. First, a very positive article in the Star-Telegram where Jeff Kline and I were interviewed. Second, the stadium campaign officially kicked off at UNT’s first home game against Tulsa. Posters, flyers, and a halftime video were presented to students, fans, and alumni. And finally, Rick Villarreal spoke to the student Senate regarding the condition of Fouts Field and the need for an athletics fee to fund a new stadium and the athletics department.

Football: UNT officials increase push for new stadium

North Texas paid respect to its past on Saturday while looking forward to what the school hopes to be a milestone moment in the history of its football program.

UNT dedicated the T.D. Parks Hall of Fame that is located in the lobby of the Mean Green Athletic Center and then burned the loan note on the building, symbolizing that the school has paid off yet another of the athletic facilities it has built over the last five years.

That accomplishment cleared the way for UNT to officially kick off a campaign to build a new football stadium to replace Fouts Field.
