About six years and 9 quarterbacks (Randall Cunningham, Anthony Wright, Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson, and Drew Bledsoe) passed between the final play of Troy Aikman’s career and the beginning of Tony Romo’s. Dallas sports fans had seen enough and couldn’t be more thrilled to see a home-grown talent assume the most coveted position in football.

Through the good and the bad, Cowboy fans are always eager to support their high profile QB. Whether it’s his overly publicized relationship with Jessica Simpson prompting Carolina Panther fans to create Simpson masks, or his vocal performances both with or without Mr. Belding, Cowboys fans will always agree with Terrell Owens’ statement of “that’s my quarterback“.

Romo has given Cowboy fans another reason to follow his every move as he just shot an 84 (13 over) on the South course at Torrey Pines (the site of this year’s US Open). Romo took advantage of the opportunity provided him by Golf Digest who put together a competition for the chance to play a round with Romo, Justin Timberlake, and Matt Lauer, as he outperformed the expectations of who had said that a top-flight amateur couldn’t break 100 on the course. The round will air on NBC Sunday, June 15 before the final round of the US Open. For Cowboy fans, this is must see TV.
