We’re halfway there and Jimmy Johnson’s two Super Bowl teams are starting to put it together.  Here’s how week three played out:

While the ‘71 Defense was able to finally slow ‘93 Emmitt Smith down, their tandem of Garrison and Thomas couldn’t score when they needed to.  Both ‘71 Staubach and ‘93 Aikman were average at best; certainly not putting up Hall of Fame numbers (as has been the theme thus far).  ‘93 Murray’s four second half field goals proved to be the difference as ‘71 Alworth’s touchdown with 20 seconds left wasn’t enough.

Jumping out to a 20-0 lead, Johnson’s squad was ready to play while Switzer’s bunch came out slow (”We did it, we did it”).  Emmitt Smith once again dominated the game… both of them.  Combining for 348 yards the two backs put on a show.  But the initial lead was too much for even another outstanding performance from ‘95 Micheal Irvin to overcome (7 catches for 130 yards) and the ‘95 Cowboys we’re handed their second straight loss.

It’s good to see ‘92 Curvin Richards getting some action.
