For local sports, the largest organization and best at breaking sports news is dallasnews.com. The Dallas Morning News has done a great job at segmenting it’s sports categories and experts to each. The Cowboys even have one of their own blogging about the goings-on of an NFL player.
Since 1998, Jamey Newberg has been following the Texas Rangers and the Frisco RoughRiders when he’s not in court defending insurance agencies at his day job. Not only does Newberg stun fans with his writings, but he catches the attention of players, their families, and their coaches. If you’re a Rangers fan, why aren’t you reading his blog?!
The cleverly titled Bob’s Blog is the plate on which the Dallas sports jockey serves up his appetizers. Bob Sturm, radio personality on BaD Radio for 1310 The Ticket, blogs daily about major sports happenings, but listening to him live you’ll get the meat & potatoes. They don’t call him Sports Sturm for nothing. He is a brain of sports knowledge, and especially in tune with hockey. Check him out.
Do you subscribe to the strange Dallas Observer way of thinking? If so, you’ll enjoy their sports blog written by none other than the great Richie Whitt. In Sportatorium you’ll find Whitt’s opinions plastered in every nook and cranny, a refreshing alternative. Not being bound by anyone other than himself, he can stretch the boundaries of “sports blog” into an all-encompassing sports/entertainment/current events publication.
