I’m not sure if this has been documented or not, but our beloved Ron Washington has a striking resemblance to a 1980’s sitcom star George Jefferson (Sherman Hensley). I haven’t heard many in the Dallas SPORTS community making the comparison, but in this writers opinion, its a striking similarity. Since the beginning of the Wash’s introduction as manager of the Texas Rangers, each and every time I see him I’m brought back to the mid 1980’s watching reruns of “The Jefferson’s” right before dinner. It’s a combination of the balding fro and the mustache I think.

vs.

And speaking of Wash, with the recent success (compared to recent years) the Rangers are having, a former owner evidently is jumping on the bandwagon. It also appears that Josh Hamilton isn’t the only other Ranger to be on the front cover of a magazine lately, evidently TV Guide is running a retro cover with our beloved Manager:
Ok, maybe its a stretch, but let’s hope that just like George Jefferson, Wash and the Rangers can continue to say they’re “movin’ on up” in the standings. Queue the Norm dad joke.

For some reason I haven’t really thought of it before, but now that you mention it he does look strikingly similar. Great post and good old man humor at the end.
